A great apple pie to enjoy with a latte....after Pilates class of course!

Ingredients
For the crust
⅔ cup shortening
2 tbsp butter
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
¼ cup water
For the fillings
8 cups apples
½ cup sugar
⅛ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon cinnamon
sprinkle of nutmeg
4 ½ teaspoons of corn starch
Instructions
To make the crust: Cut chilled shortening and butter into flour and salt with a pastry cutter. Then slowly add water and stir with a fork until combine. Separate into two balls and chill before rolling.
To make the filling: Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Then another 35-45 minutes at 350 until golden.
